StarCakes is currently in a building phase. The first thing he plays with when he gets to his Pre-K classroom is the blocks. In addition, he has always loved Angry Birds, both the game and the movie, so when he’s home he would use his Jenga blocks to recreate bird and pig scenarios that he would eventually knock down. I love that blocks allow him to use his imagination and allow for a lot of open-ended play. In honor of my little builder, here is a list of gift ideas that will satisfy any tiny architect, engineer or builder.

Our little ones love building, too! Love that there are so many more options these days, but our go to favorites are classic wooden blocks and legos. Can’t go wrong with the classics!

Our boys are also busy builders! We love Magnatiles and Legos of course, but they also enjoy a lot of the other things you mention. I got that magnetic doll house for my niece for Christmas!

I love that this is not a gendered list – thanks for making a list themed around interests and not gender!!

Ha, my daughter loves building and we have 3 of the sets you listed, with one more to come for Christmas! She also really loves these, which I randomly chose for her 3rd birthday in October since she’s really into princesses too.
