Olive’s 6th birthday party is this weekend and we’ll also be in America on her actual birthday, so we’ll probably do something there to celebrate as well. Friends have been asking about gift ideas, so I rounded up some things that I know she (and probably other 6-year- olds) would love!
Arts and Crafts Library – Arts and crafts supplies are hard to come by in the Philippines so a set like this would be great, and you can never go wrong when it comes to arts and crafts gifts.
Bean bag chair – I bought the kids bean bag chairs a couple months ago and they are one of our most used things ever. The kids read on them, the dogs nap on them, they are constantly in use!
Stick-Lets Fort Kit – Attach sticks together with these silicone connectors to build forts!
Wooden Marble Tree – This makes music as the marbles fall on each leaf. Such a beautiful and timeless toy!
Plush Dog House w/ 5 Dogs – Olive loves plush dolls and anything dogs.
Hand Puppet – The kids love puppet shows and make up stories for their plush dolls all the time. They don’t have a puppet in their collection. This line is affordable and has a ton of options. I also loved the Three Little Pigs, There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, and 5 Little Monkeys sets — all books Olive has loved.
3 Bitty Books – Olive loves to make her own books by stapling paper together. This set as well as Create Your Own Book let kids make their own long lasting books.
Paint By Sticker Zoo Animals – We have other books in this series but don’t have this one yet!
Christmas Coloring Book & Ivy and the Inky Butterfly – We own all of Johanna Basford’s coloring books except these two, which we will pick up when we’re in America along with a set of gel pens.
200 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle – Olive is really into puzzles these days. 100 pieces is easy but 200 is still a little challenging for her.
Ice Cool Family Board Game – Charlie and Olive love playing board games together and we are constantly adding new games to our collection. There are so many great ones out there now, it’s hard to keep track since all we grew up with was Monopoly, Clue, and Risk.
Magnetic Poetry Kit – To create little stories on the refrigerator every day.
Zoku Slush and Shake Maker – We live in hot weather and love Jamba Juice so this would be awesome.
Nesting Suitcases – We have a suitcase similar to this that came with our tin tea set, and it has gotten so much wear and tear. We also had a set from Land of Nod in America that was very much loved. So I know this one will be a hit too.
Nesting Dolls – My kids are obsessed with nesting dolls. A great travel toy!
Woodland Croquet – I have been wanting to get the kids a croquet set for awhile and this one is adorable.
Flower Press – For all the flowers and leaves Olive collects.
Playmobil – Olive was gifted her first Playmobil set in Korea, and I’m never buying Legos again. The Lego sets we have are all mixed up and will probably never be put back together again.
Face Paint – Fun for parties and rainy days. This set is vegan and hypoallergenic and comes with stencils!
Mermaid Tail Blanket – Olive loves mermaids and I know she would love this! There are many mermaid tail blankets out there, but I like that this is a soft minky fabric and has closed feet. I’d combine the blanket with this Pinkalicious and Aqua, the Mini-Mermaid book and this Mermaid coloring book. I think she’ll love it so much that I’ll probably buy it when we’re in America and save it for her Christmas present!
Music Jewelry Box – We probably won’t take almost anything with us from the Philippines when we eventually leave, so I’d love to give Olive a keepsake from this time in our lives. She loves music boxes and this is one she’ll be able to keep for many years to come.
. . . . .
What are your 6 year olds loving lately?
