We’re only 15 days away from Christmas! Like we have in years past, the bloggers are sharing what they’d like to gift their kids within 4 categories: want, need, wear, and read.

oats

Mrs. Oatmeal – Baby Oats, 1 month

Want: He’s too young to ‘want’ anything, but we’re going to get him this Frankie the Fox sound machine.

Need: Wubbanub – Baby Oats has the green frog Wubbanub, and loves his pacifiers! I’d like to get him another one, but don’t know if getting a different animal (like the monkey!) is better, or if I should get a duplicate frog.

Wear: Long-sleeved onesies – Winter’s coming, and Baby Oats is growing quickly! He needs warm long-sleeve onesies for layering.

Read: Your Baby’s First Word Will Be DADA by Jimmy Fallon – Mr. O thinks this book is hilarious, so it will be under our tree for Baby Oats.

pickle

Mrs. Pickle – Baby P, 2 months

Want: Baby P is too young to want anything herself, but I want her to have a Winkel.

Need: Now that Baby P is big enough to fit in cloth diapers, she needs a few more to round out her stash. She doesn’t have any pink or purple diapers yet.

Wear: Even though we live in a warm climate, Baby P needs a jacket for our short winter. I love this one from Gap.

Read: I’d love to add some BabyLit books to Baby P’s collection.

Want-Need-Wear-Read-Fiona

Mrs. Chocolate – Fiona, Age 4 months

Want: Since she loves being swaddled, I thought I would treat her to some pretty new ones.

Need: Pacifiers magically disappear in this house along with socks. Fiona’s pacifiers are different from Juliet’s and though we had 4 at one point, we are down to 1 so we can’t wait until Christmas comes to break out a few more so we can all be happy again.

Wear: Fiona has inherited all of Juliet’s hand me downs and while I love seeing Juliet’s old cloths reworn, I also want to give Fiona some stuff for just her. So as part of her gifts this year she is getting some new clothes including this snowman dress and this hooded mouse one piece.

Read: I found these adorable nursery rhyme books a while ago (Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Incy Wincy Spider) and knew I wanted to buy them for the next baby. I love the fun surfaces to touch and bring interest to baby when sharing these cute rhymes and songs we all know and love. Also I got her Wonderful Things You Will Be as I am a big fan of the illustrator (Drake has both her other books already) and I love the idea of the infinite possibilities that still lay at Fiona’s feet being a baby. The world is still so open to her, and all my kids, and I’m excited to read this to all of them as they grow.

little bug

Mrs. Cereal – Little Bug, 6 months

Want: Baby Einstein Octoplush – I’m not sure he actually wants this because he is only 6 months old, but it looks pretty cool!

Need: Philips Avent Pacifiers – We have these for him in the 0-6 size and he likes them. They are super helpful at night because they glow in the dark.

Wear: Cardigan bodysuit outfit – I love this so much! He would look so cute in it!

Read: Soft books – These will probably get chewed on, but they look pretty fun.

pizza

Mrs. Pizza – Baby Pizza, 6 months

Want: Mookiraer Headbands – Since she’s going to have short hair for quite some time, might as well have her look a bit more girly with some headbands.

Need: Matimati Baby Bibs – She spits up a lot and I have a feeling if she is like Lil’ Pizza, she will also be drooling a lot. An absorbent and fashionable bib is great!

Wear: PJs – She wears lots of hand me downs but the seasons are off. A nice cozy pj will be helpful for the colder months and Gaps pjs are the cutest!

Read: Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell – I hope Baby Pizza will have a love for reading like Lil’ Pizza. There’s so many “must have” board books I still want to add to our collection.

Want-Need-Wear-Read-BunBun

Mrs. Rabbit – BunBun, 12 months

Want: A new Sophie. I accidentally ran over our Sophie, and now she doesn’t squeak. This isn’t a bad thing, but BunBun actually plays with it allllll the time, and is constantly squeezing it, so a new one could definitely be on our “want” list.

Need: Teething Toys. BunBun is a teething machine. We had two of these, but I have no idea where they went. She loved munching on them, though, so another pair would be excellent to have.

Wear: BunBun is still as bald as can be, so headbands are pretty much essential when we leave the house. Plus, she looks absolutely adorable in them! I love the knotted style, and this brand is super soft and stretchy.

Read: They’re noisy, colorful, and she loves to flip through them. Crinkle books are this girl’s best friend!

sweet-p1

Mrs. Piñata – Sweet P, 1 year

Want: Since Sweet P will have just turned one, she can’t really let us know what she wants. I’m thinking it might be nice to get her own baby doll that wasn’t Little P’s first. But, honestly, there are already so many toys in this house!

Need: She doesn’t necessarily need any more cloth diapers, but she is a much heavier wetter than Little P was for some reason, so we go through diapers a whole lot faster this time around. I would love to get her some more cloth diapers and do laundry less often.

Wear: Her wardrobe is better stocked than Little Pinata’s, but she could still use some cute sweaters.

Read: We are still reading board books with Sweet P, and she has enjoyed the few Biscuit books we have read so far. So, I would love to read her some more of those.

Want-Need-Wear-Read-Will

Mrs. Milk – Will, 16 Months

Want: We’re very much into anything that has wheels lately, so I’m looking at these cool box sets for cars and airplanes  – he already has the train one, or this cool push train set with animals. I also know Will loves art so I’m leaning toward some finger paint.

Need: I think we’re going to need some potty training assistance soon, and with a deep love for Mickey Mouse, this one might go over well. Will is also getting great at feeding himself, so an all in one place mat is needed soon too.

Read: Will is very much into reading now – and is obsessed with Pout Pout Fish, so a new adventure of this fish would be welcome. I’d also love to get a book that will continue to push his oral language skills.

Wear: Will is getting a warm winter coat for Christmas this year! We went with this guy.

Octopus

Mrs. Octopus

Want: This adorable modular DIY dollhouse with free plans from Ana White.

Need: Travel Size squeezable GoToob containers for our homemade toothpaste and travel toiletries

Wear: Tiny Toms Ash in Dinosaur print for my dino obsessed girls!

Read: Don’t Throw That Away! by Lara Bergen – a board book primer on recycling

cereal lele

Mrs. Cereal – Lele, 23 months

Want: Balance Bike – she’s expressing interest in bikes in general and I think she is ready.

Need: Helmet – goes along with the bike. Must have if she is going to be riding.

Wear: Pumpkin Patch anchor jeans – she is obsessed with anything that has anchors on it, so she would probably love these.

Read: Charlie the Ranch Dogs Books (One & Two). We had two basset hounds (down to one now) and she loves the Charlie books. We usually buy two of each book and send one to my nephew too.

garland

Mrs. Garland – Jackson, 23 months

Want: I really want to get Jackson some Mr. Potato Head toys this year, and this Doctor Who one is perfectly nerdy and adorable!

Need: Jackson loves all kid-sized furniture and we have a perfect spot in our house for this little table. I think he’d love to color and play here!

Wear: I’m a sucker for adorable Christmas pajamas and these fit the bill perfectly.

Read: I want him to have Chicka Chicka Boom Boom – it’s a classic and he’s super into letters right now!

tiger 2

Mrs. Tiger – D, 2 years

Want: Lego Duplo Set. We bought this set for a friend and D fell in love with it at the birthday party. It comes with a plane and a car – what more can you ask for? He’s also starting to graduate away from MegaBlocks and into Duplo.

Need: Cold weather boots. Just like K, D needs some boots – his feet are too big to wear K’s seasonal hand me downs anymore!

Wear: Slippers. Except for shoes, D has plenty of hand me downs to choose from. The boys have never really worn slippers in the house, but D could use these for his frequent doctors appointments, now that he prefers to run around the exam room!

Read: Red Truck, Yellow Bus. D’s still a lover of all things with wheels, and is still working on color basics. He would love this book!

Want-Need-Wear-Read-Juliet

Mrs. Chocolate – Juliet, Age 2

Want: Juliet doesn’t really know what the holiday is all about so she hasn’t asked for anything, but Santa got her this Elmo for a great deal since she is still very into him right now.

Need: Potty training starts soon I am thinking of getting her some underwear and some books about it to get her ready

Wear: Juliet has outgrown her winter hat from last year so I am on the look out for a new one as the weather turns. I like the look of this one.

Read: Juliet loves Elmo books so I bought her another new one to read at bedtime, as well as these cute little Joyce Wan board books since she is still a little rough when it comes to picture books.

little oats

Mrs. Oatmeal – Little Oats, 26 months

Want: Paw Patrol Car Mat – She loves Paw Patrol more than just about anything else, and cars/roads/driving are a new fascination.

Need: Bogs boots – Though Bogs boots are no match for the ridiculous snow we get here, they are perfect for slushy spring conditions.

Wear: Socks – Little Oats seems to lose her socks like crazy – I don’t know where these things go. So we’re getting her MANY more.

Read: Angela’s Airplane – We borrowed this book once from the library, and since then Little Oats has been telling anyone who will listen that Santa is bringing her Angela’s Airplane.

bunny

Mrs. Rabbit – Bunny, 2.5 years

Want: We recently returned from our first trip to Disney World, and had a blast while we were there. Since the girls are so young, we skipped the fun rides and made it a point to meet all of the princesses instead. Bunny was in heaven. This Disney Princess Royal Doll Collection will be SO much fun for her to play with!

Need: Right now we could definitely use another toddler bedding set. Toddler beds are nice since they use crib sheets (which we have plenty of), but it’s hard to find the flat sheet to go on top. Bunny likes Paw Patrol, so this one would be fun and useful.

Wear: Pajamas are never a bad thing, plus little kids look adorable in footed jammies, so I want to take advantage of her wearing them for as long as I can! (Bonus: I can get a matching pair for her sister).

Read: Oh my goodness, Bunny is in LOVE with reading! She’s starting to memorize books and will “read” them later. We have a few children’s Bible story books that she likes, but they’re a little too advanced for her. I’ve heard great things about this one.

carrot ruby

Mrs. Carrot – Ruby, 2.5 years

Want: New furniture. We’re trying to make her play spaces a bit more grown up. Eyeing these right now: Here and here, and I really want to get this play kitchen for her, but I’m not sure if she’s going to be into it.

Need: boots (her new daycare takes them outside as long as it’s 32 or above!). I’m eyeing these boots but twitching at the price.

Wear: sweaters and warmer pants for outside time. I’m eyeing these: One, two, and three

Read: This book just got reissued to benefit my former employer and is full of really fun stories so I want to get it.

palette summer

Mrs. Palette – Summer, 2.5 years

Want: Paw Patrol

Need: Boots

Wear: Jacket

Read: Emotion books

cowgirl
Mrs. Cowgirl – Lil’ CG, 2.5 years

Want: Lil’ CG has enjoyed playing with the Magformers at our house and on a recent play date, all she wanted to play with were the Magna Tiles!

Need: It doesn’t snow a ton where we live, but it definitely snows several times throughout the winter. Lil’ CG needs a pair of boots to wear in the snow and I like this pair since they can also worn as rain boots — we have a pair for Lil’ CB and they are great!

Wear: Lil’ CB will be starting daycare in January and she could use some casual, easily washable tops. Of course, I can’t resist the glitter on this tee!

Read: Lil’ CG is working on her language skills and we are working hard to help her use her words and learn new ones. She’ll be getting a few of these concept books to help her along in her stocking! National Geographic Little Kids Look and Learn: People, Count, and Shapes.

lil pizza

Mrs. Pizza – Lil’ Pizza, 35 months

Want: ERGObaby Doll carrier – She is always trying to put on my carrier and put a doll in it, so it would be cute to get one that would actually fit her.

Need: Snowpants – She’s already talking about wanting to play in the snow (although she disliked it last winter). I have to get her winter gear ready!

Wear: Minnetonka Cassie Slipper – Our floors are cold so we want to keep her feet warm without her slipping on the floor.

Read: Press Here by Herve Tullet – She has borrowed this book a couple times already and loves to read it over and over again. It’s a great interactive book.

little pinata

Mrs. Piñata – Little Piñata, 3 years

Want: Star Wars toys and books. This kid is kind of obsessed with Star Wars despite never seeing a single movie. He has been really into a Star Wars Alphabet Book, so he can now identify his letter by a Star Wars character. When we point to an “A” he can’t say that it’s an “A”, but he can say “That’s for Annakin.” So, we have purchased a couple of small kid friendly Star Wars books for him. I’d also like to find a toy or two for him that doesn’t have small parts and isn’t ridiculously expensive.

Need: Warmer, winter clothes. Most of the clothes are kids wear are hand-me-downs, and we are short on warmer sweaters this season for him. Thankfully it hasn’t gotten too cold here yet, but he definitely needs a few sweaters or sweatshirts by the time January rolls around.

Wear: Since he needs warm clothes, I will add here fleece pajamas and slippers. His pajamas are all cotton and since he throws the covers off quite often, I would love for him to have warmer pjs. And cozy slippers for during the day.

Read: I could actually use some advice here. Mr. Pinata has started reading chapter books to Little P at bedtime and they both love it! So far they have read “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” and are now working on “Charlotte’s Web.” I would love advice on a next book for him!

pen

Mrs. Pen – Cobi, 3.5 years

Want: Set of Paw Patrol cruisers

Need: He needs a winter coat. With cold Minnesota winters, we need something warm and durable! I am eyeing this one from Lands End and keeping my eye out for a good sale.

Wear: We had this sweatshirt when Cobi was 2 and loved the quality and unique print. I’d love another in his current size.

Read: The Mischievians by William Joyce. Cobi loves this book that we borrowed from the library awhile back and I’d love to add it to our collection.

juice

Mrs. Juice – Lila, 4 years

Want: Matching PJs – Lila’s been asking for a matching PJ set with her American Girl doll, and these look cute and cozy.

Need: Fair Isle sweater leggings – Ok, maybe she doesn’t really “need” these.   Is there anything a younger sister really needs with all her older sister’s hand-me-downs? But some options other than jeans and sweatpants would be nice for our brutal Chicago winters!

Wear: Crewcuts girls sequin star sweatshirt – Lila’s so into sparkles, and she needs some warmer layers like this comfy sweatshirt.

Read: Happy Birthday Cupcake by Terry Border – Lila is obsessed with reading Peanut Butter & Cupcake every night, so hoping she’ll like this one as well!

tiger

Mrs. Tiger – K, 4 years

Want: Lego City Set. K is very intrigued by the “regular” sized Legos and likes to play with his older cousin’s set when she visits. He would love this set which includes a firetruck and a building, although we’ll have to keep this as an activity for when D is napping due to the small pieces!

Need: Cold weather boots. It doesn’t snow enough here to justify a full snow bib outfit + heavy duty boots, but we’ve had success with Osh Kosh light duty boots before, and both boys need a new pair!

Wear: Pajamas. We are blessed to be gifted both hand-me-downs and new clothes from our large family, so we often just need to buy the basics for the boys. K seems to be constantly growing out of his PJs, and he’s in a Ninja turtles kick right now so he would love these.

Read: Biggest, Strongest, Fastest by Steven Jenkins. K’s still a huge animal lover, with cheetahs as one of his favorites. He would love this book about the best of the best, and of course it doesn’t hurt that the cover is purple, his favorite color!

train lilly

Mrs. Train – Lilly, 4 years

Want: We have some of the Calico critters animals and the town house. This year Lilly wants something to add to her houses. She really wants the yacht but we haven’t quite decided between that or the island house.

Need: Lilly is, and I think always will be an R2D2 fan. Everyone else seems to be in love with the new BB-8 droid, but not my little girl. She is a Star Wars purist and loves her little white and blue droid. She is getting a R2D2 beanie.

Wear: My mom and I found this adorable girls R2D2 robe and I know our little star wars fan will love it.

Read: Because she just turned four, I think this book would be so much fun for her. She always starts stories with, “when I was a baby a long time ago…..” so I know she will related to the book about a four year old talking about when she was a baby.

palette

Mrs. Palette – Gemma, 5 years

Want: Holiday Barbie

Need: Boots

Wear: Jacket

Read: Artistic books (one and two)

Want-Need-Wear-Read-Drake

Mrs. Chocolate – Drake, 5 years

Want: Drake has really been into Octonaut books recently. We pretty much read the sames ones every night and he said he wants to ask Santa for a new book. Santa was feeling generous and picked him up a few new ones: The Scary Spookfish, The Great Christmas Rescue and The Growing Goldfish.

Need: Need is so hard for me to say because none of my children need anything and we are lucky for that I know. Since Drake has started occupational therapy for his Sensory Processing Disorder, I am very conscious of his need for sensory output and movement. After talking with his OT, we decided that a trampoline might be good for him to help him get some energy out, a place to go when he is too pent up and gets angry, and obviously for pure fun as well. I was looking at a different one but then a deal came up for this one which made it less than $30, so I bought it instead.

Wear: I am a bit obsessed with kids’ clothing, but sadly as Drake ages the cuter boy selection gets slimmer and slimmer. I dont buy for him as much as his sisters, but he really needs some more warm pants for the winter. I just got him 4 more pair of these warm fleece pants on sale at the Children’s Place to get us through these cold months

Read: I always buy books for gift giving holidays; it’s my own personal tradition. Drake is getting the Octonaut books from Santa, so I got him a few more picture books including these: Take Away the A and Have You Seen My Monster.

lil cb
Mrs. Cowgirl – Lil’ CB, 6 years

Want: Annoyingly, Lil’ CB has gotten really into Pokemon cards. I think they’re incredibly silly and a waste of money, but who am I to talk since I loved Garbage Pail Kids when I was about his age! He’d love lots of Pokemon cards for Christmas, especially big packs like this one.

Need: Lil’ CB could use a new pair of dressier shoes for church and other special events. Since he pretty much lives in his sneakers, I don’t want to spend a lot of money on a pair of shoes he’ll only wear once a week, so these fit the bill and are versatile enough to go with everything:

Wear: Lil’ CB he’s asked for this shirt in particular. While I’m not a huge fan of skulls, the gold is hard to say no to!

Read: We’ve really enjoyed these World of Reading superhero books, especially since they are age-appropriate and Lil’ CB can read them on his own. He’ll be getting these two for Christmas.

train joe

Mrs. Train – Joe, 6 years

Want: All three boys are desperate to get these triple blade light sabers. They have obviously not seen the new movie (and to be honest I have to watch it first before I decide if they can see it. I know I will win the worst mom in the world prize if I deem it too mature but what can I say…). We’re also getting the boys the new Lego dimensions game. The family will get the game and then each boy will get a level pack or fun pack to go along with it. Joe is getting this pack.

Need: We will be in Utah for Christmas so I got each kid a Star Wars beanie from Disneyland. Joe is getting a new storm trooper with Mickey ears beanie.

Wear: I keep thinking at six maybe they are out growing their dress ups, but then I think, “who am I kidding I still like playing dress ups” so we are getting them some more dress ups for the new movie coming out.

Read: A friend of mine showed me these lower level choose your own adventure books and I know Joe will love them. They are prefect for my emergent readers. They have great color pictures but also enough content to keep them engaged. Plus you can read them over and over again and get a new story each time.

nick

Mrs. Train – Nick, 6 years

Want: Nick is getting this level pack to go with the Lego dimensions game we got for the family.

Need: Nick is getting the new droid BB-8 beanie.

Wear: In keeping with his brothers, Nick also wants a new Star Wars costume.

Read: Nick is obsessed with Harry Potter. We have read the first three books together. Every week they go to the school library he brings home one of the first three books. He keeps telling me he won’t check out the fourth one until I tell him he is old enough to read it. I thought this illustrated version will be perfect for him. The bonus is I will get to read it too!

juice 2

Mrs. Juice – HJ, 7 years

Want: Spirograph – HJ has been asking for this for awhile. She loves any kinds of arts and crafts, so I can see this keeping her occupied for a long time.

Need: Warm winter hat – HJ is super picky about wearing anything in cold weather, so hoping this simple beanie will meet her expectations!

Wear: Cozy leggings – Pretty much the only pants she’ll wear in the winter, so I always feel like she needs more colors.

Read: The Day the Crayons Came Home by Drew Daywalt – HJ loves the silliness of The Day the Crayons Quit, and she can’t wait to add this one to her bookshelf.

train james

Mrs. Train – James, 7 years

Want: James is getting this level pack to go with the Lego dimensions game we got for the family.

Need: James is getting the Darth Vader Mickey ears beanie.

Wear: I kept asking over and over again and James insists he wants a ninja dress up.

Read: James is obsessed with History. He especially loves to read about presidents and wars so I thought I would get him a book about American history.

What are you getting your little ones for Christmas?
