For a long time before Lil’ CG joined our family, I assumed I’d be all about the pink and frilly and super duper girly clothes for our little girl. And then I started shopping for her and realized that what I’m really drawn to are more neutral pieces that are essentially mini versions of things I’d wear myself. Not so much in a way where Lil’ CG is wearing very mature looks (no baby stilettos, I promise!), but in a way where she’s dressed in looks that are clean and not so babyish. This means that I stay away from clothing with words and characters on them and lean towards neutral colors and classic patterns. This also means that I sometimes end up in the boys’ section because it can be really hard to find girls’ clothing that is not pink and/or frilly and/or super sparkly. Keep in mind, though, that I happen to love sequins and tulle and lace far more than a grown woman should, so there’s a fair amount of that thrown into Lil’ CG’s wardrobe, too! I just make sure to mix it with more casual or neutral pieces so we’re not looking like we’re wearing full-on dance recital costumes.
I know there’ll come a time when Lil’ CG won’t be so keen on letting me pick her clothes, but while she does, here are some pieces I’d love for her, all while not-so-secretly wishing I could also fit into a 3T so we could share wardrobes!

Haha I totally do the same thing and look at all the clothes I would wear which ends up being all neutral colors. Cute options!

Love your picks! These are the same style that I am drawn to for myself and my LO too.

Some days I wish I could fit into my daughter’s clothes, too.

Very cute! All of those little sweaters are adorable. I’ve accidentally coordinated what my LO is wearing and what I’m wearing a few times. I’m much more likely to dress her in neutrals and jewel tones than pink and more pink.

@LindsayLou: I do that all the time, too! It’s hilarious and sometimes embarrassing

So cute! I think I’d do the same if I had a little girl – as of now, Jackson basically dresses like a tiny man! There’s just something about a toddler in more neutral, classic styles that melts my heart!
