Long time, no talk, right? Last time I posted we were getting ready for the Trikester’s first birthday party. Here’s the invite photo we sent out:

We just celebrated the Trikester’s second birthday party over the weekend. Here’s the photo that accompanied this year’s invite (notice how we’ve scaled back during the last year from crazy staged mamarazzi photo shoot to an iPhone snap? — that’s kind of a theme around here).

Yup, forgot to remove the socks. Oh well, next year! And he’s now too wiggly and opinionated to wear a hat.

What have we been up to over the past year? A couple life of major life events have kept us busy! We put our house on the market in February, knowing we needed more space, and then sold it six weeks later, well before we’d found a new house. Not a bad financial situation to find ourselves in, but it was nail biting as we tried to figure out temporary living arrangements.

The other big event was the conception of baby #2 — which occurred well before finding a new house. Eeek! It ended up all working out, and we were technically homeless for only a weekend, as we closed on our old house and negotiated prepossession on our new house. The whole moving process occurred smack-dab in the middle of my first trimester, so the exhaustion was intense, and I’m super glad to have that behind us.

We’re now happily settled in the new digs (a whole mile down the road from our old house), and eagerly awaiting the arrival of Trikester 2.0. I’m due in mid-January, and since our boxes our finally unpacked, it’s time to start the serious nesting.
