We love the pigeon books! Our current favorite is Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, and my son loves anticipating the pages and says “Pleeeeaaaaaase” and “drives” the bus right along with the pigeon.

Ooh, I love The Pigeon! When the first book came out I did a great unit with my first graders. They loved how interactive it was and came up with all kinds of ways to work it into different subjects! I found pigeons drawn randomly on their math papers!

Knuffle Bunny is one of my favorites! I love how it shows an urban setting and a laundromat, which aren’t often found in children’s books. The photos and illustrations are so much fun for my little one to look at; and the pigeon t-shirt is a super cute touch!

When I taught Kindergarten, Mo Willems was my go-to author! Now teaching tweens, his books are great examples of humour and timing in literature. I cannot wait until my baby boy is old enough to laugh with me at his books!

I heard about this author from hellobee. It seems like many parents are a fan of his works. I’m always in search of great books for my kiddos.

So excited that a new pigeon book is coming out next week!! I have a terrible habit of giving books away and have owned Don’t let the pigeon stay op late several times. But they’ve gone to mommies friends who are at that bedtime negotiation stage. Now that our baby is due to arrive next month, I’m realizing that I really should have kept a copy for myself! So Mo is on my registry. I have a framed Leonardo print in the baby’s room. It was my motivation for color and design. Happy, quirky and with a good message.

Yes, the first book I could say without a doubt was my daughter’s favorite was The Pigeon Wants a Puppy! We’d yell and scream along with the Pigeon and she LOVED it. Sadly, her love for that book means that her toddler hands ripped the pages until it became unreadable. I’d love to introduce her to more of the Pigeon’s antics!
