Hello third trimester! I feel like I should write a post complaining about all my annoying pregnancy symptoms, but honestly, I don’t have any. I’m a little peeved with the weight gain – 20 lbs at 28 weeks, but that’s just irritating my self-esteem. When I’m not pregnant, I gain weight in my thighs and butt, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that those parts are growing now. My summer vacation indulgences of ice cream cones and microwaved s’mores are contributing to the problem, so hopefully those treats taper off with school starting this week.
I’m still aiming for forty-minute workouts, four times per week, and most weeks, I can make that happen. I was focusing exclusively on cardio, but a couple weeks ago I added weights back into my routine. I overdid the squats the first time and limped around for a few days, but now I think I’ve found a good balance.
My belly is just big enough to get in the way. We played mini-golf the other night and I almost put Mr. Tricycle on “get my ball out of the hole duty,” but I decided that the bending over was good for me, so I sucked it up, or rather sucked it in, and bent over every time to get it myself. I can’t shave very easily any more, and painting my toenails was a challenge, but otherwise, no complaints.
Everyone on the boards seems to moan about the third trimester, so I’m holding my breath, hoping I continue to feel great. I’m only a couple weeks into it, so there’s still plenty of time for lots of annoying issues to creep-up, especially now that I’m headed back to work.
How did you feel during your third trimester? At what point did pregnancy become super uncomfortable?

you are ALL belly – you don’t look like you gained much weight at all! you look beautiful and welcome to the third trimester!! with my first pregnancy i was like you and had no symptoms all the way through… the most annoying thing about my third trimester was the frequent bathroom runs i needed to make in the middle of the night and some heartburn, but no swollen feet or leg cramps or anything like that.
i started to become really uncomfortable in my 37th week because the baby was sitting so low and i felt so much pressure down there. turns out the baby was ready to come because she came out in my 38th week!

i’m still getting around, but am waiting for the point where it becomes really hard to get around and do my usual chores, etc.

Love your procession of photos! I’m at 31 weeks and recently working against heartburn and back discomfort. Nothing too bad, mostly just feel like a turtle on his back now when trying to get out of bed =)

I’ll be posting my 28-week picture Friday – so I’m RIGHT behind you. I’ve gained 35 lbs. THIRTY-FIVE. Lord help me. I’ve grown all over too. My belly is definitely getting in the way. I have days where I feel absolutely awful but for the most part – I’m enjoying the heck out of this experience!! Hope you continue to feel good! =)

I love your pictures! To be honest, I hit the wall with both my pregnancies at about 37 weeks. And then I gave birth with both babies at 39 weeks.
Those two weeks in between were really hard, though, lol!

You look great! I had gained more than twice that by my 28 weeks! I felt my best physically during third trimester oddly enough. So excited for you

I love your pics – I wish I’d done something like this.
I’ve always been confused as to when third tri officially starts. I’ve seen both 27 weeks and 28 weeks listed.
We also played mini golf this weekend, and I’m not ashamed to admit that I put my man on “get my ball out of the hole” duty
You’re a better woman than me!

I love the photo progression. Don’t worry about the weight, if you’re being healthy (and a treat every now and then is healthy
) then it will come off. I gained a lot of weight and it all came off eventually.
Not to be all motherly, but be careful with the squats. I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that they’re a no-no because of the hormones that are loosening your joints. I had some really painful issues in my hips and pelvis in the third tri, ouch!

Thanks for the nice confidence boost, guys! It doesn’t seem like a big deal to only take a photo once every two weeks, but once I factor in doing my hair, make-up, etc., they turn into a lot of work!
@Mrs. Stroller: I hadn’t heard that! The squats were via pregnancy workout DVDs, so I just assumed they were A-OK – ill definelty check with my Dr at the next appt!

You look great!
In my first pregnancy I had no big complaints about the third tri. This second time around is a totally different story. My dr. told me once your abs are all stretched out (or whatever happens to them) from pregnancy, they’re never the same and they just don’t hold up in subsequent pregnancies, so everything just goes down, down, down, which means lots of pressure and discomfort.
Which is to say… you may never get really uncomfortable! I didn’t the first time around! Good luck….

so radiant still! =) i was totally water-bloated by the end of my pregnancy and had to squeeze my toes into my sandals, and was getting up to go to the bathroom every couple hours during the night. other than that, no real complaints =). hang in there, you look great!

You look great – what a cute bump you have there! The photo progressions is a really nice idea. I bet you’ll really appreciate having those photos to remember your pregnancy by. I loved the third trimester – all of the attention and everyone wants to tel you about their own “babies,” even if their babies happen to be in their 40’s. Enjoy the third trimester!

You look great, I love to see the progression! Thanks for the third tri sneak peek — I can’t wait!

I love these every two week photos. They really show your progression and growth better than every week. The third trimester for me brought aches, weight gain and pain. I just kept telling myself, “you’re only doing this once!” That helped me get through it. Good for you for continuing to work out! I was a pregnant sloth.

You look great! The work you’ve put into taking these photos is definitely paying off :). I also love how you included the week number in each photo.. such a good idea.
