Lil’ Pizza turns five soon after Christmas, so it often feels like she gets an abundance of gifts all at one time.  We try our best to spread out the gifts and activities, which is especially helpful during the winter months when we are often inside.  These gift ideas are geared towards Lil’ Pizza’s interests which include mermaids, unicorns, and princesses, but I tried to stay gender neutral for most of the gifts.  What are some things you are looking at for your 5-year-old?

Gifts-for-5-Year-Old-Girls

1) Richard Scarry’s Busytown, Eye Found It! board game – We currently own one board game and want to start playing more board games with Lil’ Pizza.  I know I should start with a lot of the classic games, but this board game intrigued me because it has over 1,000 5-star reviews on Amazon.  It also looks like a game that Baby Pizza would be able to play along with Lil’ Pizza (even if it’s not completely the correct way) and that is always a big win for me.

2) National Geographic Little Kids First Big Book of the Ocean – We have borrowed a few of the National Geographic Little Kids First Big Books and they are all excellent.  I love the simple text and the beautiful pictures.  Kids absorb so much information at this age and love to learn.  Lil’ Pizza loves learning about the ocean and she would absolutely love owning this book.

3) Little Passports, Early Explorers Subscription – This seems like a fun introduction to world geography for little ones.  They have different subscriptions and payment plans to make it appropriate for kids ranging from age 3-13.  Each month, your child receives fun, engaging and educational products and activities.

4) Easy Playhouse Crafty Cottage – Any gift that has multiple purposes is a big plus.  I love that kids can decorate the house and then use it for pretend play.

5) Inspiration art case – Lil’ Pizza would be so excited to have her own case of art supplies.  Our stash of markers, colored pencils, and crayons need to be replaced soon so this would make a good replacement for those art supplies.  I love buying art supplies for Lil’ Pizza and am also looking into getting the Mr. Sketch Scented Twistable Gel Crayons (because who doesn’t want good smelling art supplies?) and this set of 100 gel pens.

6) Mermaid Doll Making Kit – Lil’ Pizza loves mermaids (sometimes equally as much as unicorns) and I thought this would be a fun activity for her to do since she loves crafting so much.

7) Unicorn purse – This purse fulfills some of Lil’ Pizza’s favorite things: unicorns, accessories and sparkles.  A girl can never have enough unicorn items (especially if they are as obsessed as Lil’ Pizza).  Here are some more unicorn gift ideas if you have a unicorn lover.

8) Mermaid Blanket – The girls already have mermaid blankets that their skilled aunt made for them, but if you are looking for a good mermaid blanket, this one looks so cozy and perfect.

9) Magnetic Poetry Kids’ Kit – There are a variety of choices in the magnet selection depending on your child’s reading ability.  I think Lil’ Pizza will have fun making her own silly sentences with these magnets.

10) LEGO Juniors Disney’s Anna & Elsa’s Frozen Playground – I found the LEGO Juniors to be appropriate and fun for Lil’ Pizza to put together on her own.  Although Frozen 2 is not going to be released for another two years, Lil’ Pizza still enjoys Frozen.

11) Pancake Pile up Relay Game – I like to find games that don’t always need to be played with someone else.  Although it is meant to be a relay game, I can see Lil’ Pizza playing this on her own if she wanted.  It can also serve another purpose and be used when they are pretending to cook in their kitchen.

12) Lite Brite Magic Screen – It is fun to see that the Lite Brite has returned and I love this retro style version.  Lil’ Pizza enjoys playing with the big Lite Brite at the library and I think she would enjoy making designs and pictures with her very own Lite Brite screen.
