I’ve been on the hunt to learn how to cut my son’s hair myself. I got tired of the $15 hack jobs and the $40 cuts that last 30 days. I watched numerous YouTube videos — some utterly hilarious and most not very helpful. In the end, I spent most of my time staring at hairstyles just wondering how the heck not to screw them up. Then of course since I was looking at little boys’ hairstyles for my son, I also wandered into the little girls’ cute hair land. So I got inspired and gathered up my favorite finds Some of the little girls styles’ are adorable tutorials but most are just inspiration. Adorable inspiration.
short little bob . side swept pouf
side braid . mouse ears (tutorial)
side swept . bang braid (tutorial)
all to the side . braided pigtails

I’m in love with the mouse ears!
Right now we’re currently in a constant curly bedhead stage. Her hair is too short to do anything with, her bangs are getting long but I don’t want to cut them yet so I try a bow but she just pulls it out. Oy.

My 3 year old hates the feel of the falling hair so we try to keep his cuts short. After a series of disasters or no goes a the barbers, I got clippers on Amazon and do his whole head in a longer buzz. Cute on him, fast and only takes one tiny bag of gummies as a bribe.
My 18 month old girl has a cute bob and side part. we do front pig tails on one or both sides and flip them under so she can not pull the elastic out and so they sit flat. SO CUTE!

Adorable! We rock the braided bang pretty often to keep Toddler Girl’s curls out of her face. I’m going to have to wait for the baby to get bigger before I can try most of those, though. TG’s ringlets just do their own awesome thing.

Well, obviously my favorite haircut for boys for the time being is the ‘all to the side’ as it’s my son you’ve featured
My 5 year old daughter has curly hair and mostly ‘we’ let her hair hang loose but if she lets her 14 year old sister style it, they often do something like this:

(I would personally leave out the color splash – but then again, I’m not a 5 year old girl….:-)

Love your posts Brandy and what a great round-up you’ve compiled! I love the braided pigtails, the top knot, and the mouse ears the most! They are so cute! Also love the side swept pouf for a boy, but seems like a lot of work!
