I don’t think there is anything that isn’t 10 times cuter on a toddler. Once it’s shrunken down into mini size, the cuteness factor basically explodes. A tiny toddler sized backpack is just as adorable as it sounds. Seeing a backpack that fits their little bodies just perfectly is a major “awwwww” moment. My kids love their little backpacks — they even slept with them on the first night we got them – and now they pack their backpacks full of their special toys before every outing. Whether your little one is going to preschool, kindergarten or just wants to be independent (so basically all toddlers), one of these tiny toddler backpacks will be perfect!
no. 1 – The perfect basic, not so basic little backpack – comes in a bunch of fun colors! American Apparel $28
no.2 – Like a tiny little hiking backpack, cuteness factor to the max! H&M $17.95
no.3 – Shining, shimmering, splennnndid! (name that song!). 77kids $29.95
no.4 – Not technically a toddler backpack, but small enough and cute enough that it will be way perfect. Baggu $34
no.5 – Classic and comes in a rainbow of colors. Fjällräven $65
no.6 – Is your little one obsessed with an animal? This is the bag for them. Skip Hop $20
no.7 – Monster mash, pretty sure any every little boy would love to carry a monster on his back. 77kids $29.95
no.8 – Traditional and hip, just like mom or dad’s. Herschel $40
no.9 – Looks a little cool at first glance, but it has a hidden super hero cape which totally takes the cool to an epic level. SuperMe $45
Does your little one already have a backpack? Which style is your favorite?

I’m really considering buying Mavrick a back pack… I think I will hold off until next year when he turns three. That way he will understand the concept a little more. I love the mashup, honestly… a glitter backpack? Can I get one for myself

Thank you for this post. We use a regular back-pack as our current diaper bag and DD (29m) insists on trying to wear it (but it is almost bigger than she is) so I made her a little draw string back-pack out of some leftover material. I have been looking to graduate her to a toddler back-pack for some time but finding what all is out there has been tough.

This is my ultimate Lala backpack. She loves it, but I can’t justify it!

We love our Skip Hop bags. Perfect size for preschool or the toddler room at daycare.

I love the skip hop backpacks and I think I’ll have to get one of those for DS when he’s older!

my brother got his LO a regular-size backpack for his first day of daycare when he was 2 yo. it was so cute when he put it on, but then his eyes widened and he fell straight flat on his back. luckily, we all just laughed it off, LO included.
they probably could have used this guide then.

I really like those Skip Hop backpacks but LO was gifted a Fjällräven, so that’ll be her first pack. The color’s the same as the one pictured, pretty dark so I’m thinking I can justify a lighter colored one for when she’s in something bright. Haha!

So cute! I’ve been seeing lots of “first day at school” pics all over my FB. Makes me so giddy for the future

We’ve looking all over for a really small, fun backpack for our very little guy who’s about to start preschool. Found this fun nohoo frog hug pack that’s just his size and are going to give it a try. Wanted to share in case anyone else is looking for something similar:
