I like to be creative on how I like to extend the life of my kids’ clothes, because I absolutely love each item and I like to get the biggest bang for my buck (here is my last post). This time it’s a boys button-down shirt. Here’s why it’s one of my favorite items to buy my son.bang for your buck - boys button-down shirt

The little boy’s shirt as a shirt-dress, makes the best little dress. Add a belt to make it a bit more feminine or a pretty little slip under the dress; it’s also a great way to add a bit more length if needed. If your little girl doesn’t have an older brother to hand her down shirts, have a look in the little boys’ section for a cute top to style into a dress – this would be a great way for an older sister to have items to pass on to a little brother too!

A Boy’s Shirt as a Little Shirt Dress works better when the shirt is a bit slimmer fitting. The best stores for slimmer fitting boys’ shirts are:

  • 77 Kids – a cute chambray shirt.
  • Zara – also the shirt I used in this post.
  • Crewcuts – a great gingham would be so cute.

Do you have a special way you like to extend the life of your kiddos’ clothes?
