It seems stylish and boys sandals don’t fit well together in a sentence. Every single year I struggle to find sandals for my son that are functional and cool, and every year it’s a bit of a struggle. Since I’m frugal and super duper picky, I thought I’d share some of the best sandals for little boys I’ve seen on the market this summer – I threw in a few summer shoes that would easily replace sandals on any given day just in case none of my sandal picks are floating your boat!
- Saltwater Sandals – A great vintage look, super cute for a dapper little dude or a little hipster. Added bonus – these can be worn in and out of water.
- Havaianas – My favorite classic flip flop for adults, unbelievable comfy – comes in a super cute kiddos style.
- Converse Slip-Ons – Obviously not a sandal, but easy to slip on like a sandal and looks just as adorable with shorts.
- Native Millers – The cool Crocs. Comfy, easy to slip-on, and great for in and out of the water.
- Leather Sandal – European, classic and pretty classy cool.
- Suede Buckle Sandal – A funky Birkenstock replica, at first I was a not a fan of these, but then I thought about how cute they’d look with a pair of rolled jean shorts.
- Livie & Luca Boa – These are a bit out of the box for my usual style, but I think they are super cute in a classic-hipster-rugged-cool sorta way.
- Tiny Toms – Well, they are Toms, and one of my favorite summer shoes for my son (he loves them equally as much).
Which are your favorite? Do you find the search for stylish sandals for boys a struggle too?

i have the same problem, so i love this post! i really like those leather sandals, though i imagine they’re not terribly practical for my 2 year-old…maybe in 2 years!
my little guy loves his tiny toms, too and when he outgrows his navy ones, i totally want to get those buffalo plaid ones for him!
we just got these from the gap: http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=6395&vid=1&pid=149698&scid=149698022
similar to the native miller ones, and we love them!

Where was this list 2 weeks ago?! I love those Livie and Luca Boa ones. We ended up buying Stride Rite’s SRT Kyle in brown.

The Tiny Toms are just so cute!

I love Keens Newport H2. Not the most stylish but the most practical for a 3-year-old. I’ve been getting them for him since he was 2-years-old. Super durable and can get wet. Some people complain about it smelling after a while but I’ve never had that problem. I do wash them from time-to-time. I do love leather sandals though!

@Mrs. Cowgirl: why wouldn’t they be practical for a 2yo?
@brandy: love the list! so,so,so cute. Toms have definitely been on my list for when Cobi starts walking, as well as converse. But I equally love the leather sandal, saltwater and native millers (even tho I hate crocs). Thanks so much for the list! It’s so hard to find cute boy stuff

Oh, and See Kai Run has some pretty cute (and very functional) options as well

i’ve spent so much on summer sandals. their feet just grow so ridiculously fast during the summer. charlie already has 3 summer sandals, but i really want to get him a pair of natives!

I’m all for one functional shoe. Cooler California weather calls for Converse Chucks, or the Target Converse Velcro ones. Summer here is just too hot for full shoes. We were given a pair of hand-me-down Stride Rite sandal shies similar to the ones mentioned above, the Kyle. I loved them, he loved them. Recently outgrew them, but I couldn’t bring myself to spend $45 on a pair of shoes for a two year old. So I went on eBay. Same shoes, slightly used, $12 with shipping. My little guy is so happy again.

We were gifted a pair of tiny toms that I can’t wait for LO to wear! I also love the native millers (but not a huge fan of crocs)!

@Coco Bee: well, lil’ cb is in a big “I DO IT MYSELF!!!” phase right now and i think the straps would frustrate him because they’d probably be hard for him to get on and off by himself. he also loves to get down and dirty in sand, mud, water, mulch, etc, etc, so i can just picture the leather getting ruined!
i kinda want them for myself now!

@Mrs. Cowgirl: I hear you! My son is only 18 months and he can already put his sneakers (with velcro) on, so there’s no way he would accept buckles.
I wish I knew that Saltwater had sandals for boys, I am not sure he’ll be into them next summer and I have a feeling we’ll be needing more closed toe shoes, esp. for playgrounds. I personally love Keens for this.

I got the saltwater ones for my 14 month old and he hated them! too different from his regular velcro sneakers I guess…might try the tiny toms
